Job Details

Job Title: Project Coordinator (Grid and Development)

Location: London Office

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Line Manager: Development Lead

Key Stakeholders: Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), IDNO partners, planning consultants, development and acquisition teams, and site surveying suppliers.

Role Overview

We are looking for an organised and proactive Project Coordinator to join our Grid and Development team and help progress new electric vehicle charging sites through development and towards construction.

Working closely with the Development Lead and wider team, you will help coordinate grid connection applications, surveys, planning activities and other pre-construction requirements. You will also communicate with a range of external partners, including electricity network operators, consultants and suppliers, helping to make sure projects continue to move forward, and information is kept accurate and up to date.

This is a great opportunity for someone at an earlier stage of their career who enjoys being organised, working with different people and coordinating multiple activities. You may already have some experience in a project-based environment, or you may be looking for an opportunity to develop your career within electric vehicle charging and infrastructure.

You will work alongside experienced colleagues and develop your technical and industry knowledge as you grow within the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Grid connection applications: Support and coordinate grid connection applications with Distribution Network Operators and Independent Distribution Network Operators, helping to progress applications and secure suitable power supplies for new electric vehicle charging sites.
  • Project and milestone tracking: Monitor key grid connection milestones in Salesforce, follow up on outstanding actions and highlight potential delays or risks to the team.
  • Grid operations: Help manage the Grid Operations inbox and act as a point of contact for electricity network operators. This will include responding to queries, following up with planners and providing updates to the relevant teams.
  • External design coordination: Coordinate Requests for Information, new design requests and design amendments with external design partners. Monitor agreed timescales, follow up on outstanding actions and help ensure work is completed to the required standard and deadlines.
  • Pre-construction readiness: Coordinate and schedule surveys, planning submissions and other technical activities required to prepare new charging sites for construction.
  • Stakeholder coordination: Work closely with colleagues across Development, Design and Construction, as well as external consultants, suppliers, landowners, local authorities and electricity network operators.
  • Project administration: Keep project information and documentation accurate and up to date across Salesforce and OneDrive. This will include uploading documents, updating project records and assets, creating reports, raising purchase orders and requesting asset values.
  • Pipeline and reporting: Help coordinate weekly pipeline meetings and provide clear updates on the progress of grid connections, surveying and development activities.
  • Site registrations: Coordinate Openreach registrations for new sites and maintain accurate records.

As you develop your knowledge and experience, there will be opportunities to take on greater responsibility for projects and activities across the Grid and Development team.

Skills and Experience

  • Is confident communicating with different people and building positive working relationships.
  • Is comfortable following up on actions and helping to keep projects moving.
  • Is confident using systems, spreadsheets and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Has a proactive and collaborative approach to work.
  • Is keen to learn and develop their knowledge of electric vehicle charging, electricity networks and infrastructure development.

Desirable

The following would be useful but are not essential. We are happy to support the right person in developing their knowledge in these areas:

  • Experience working within electric vehicle charging, energy, utilities, construction, property, infrastructure or renewable energy.

  • Experience supporting planning, surveying or pre-construction activities.
  • Experience using Salesforce or a similar customer relationship or project management system.
