About the role:

We are seeking a proactive and skilled IT Administrator to join our growing team. This mid-level role will focus on maintaining and improving our IT infrastructure, supporting business-critical systems, and ensuring seamless day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background, experience in IT management, and a user-centric approach to support.

You will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to optimise IT processes, enhance security compliance, and provide technical solutions to complex challenges. With a blend of technical expertise and strategic thinking, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our systems remain robust, scalable, and aligned with our business goals.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring all IT setups, accounts, and devices are ready before their start date.
  • Track and manage the lifecycle of company laptops and other IT equipment, ensuring proper allocation, maintenance, and disposal.
  • Administer and support the tools and platforms used across the business, ensuring they are optimised and fully functional.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of all office IT infrastructure, laptops, TVs, audio and communication systems.
  • Liaise with external vendors and service providers to procure, maintain, troubleshoot and manage IT-related services.
  • Provide IT inductions for new starters.
  • Manage mobile phone user accounts and set up.
  • Rapidly establish a good working relationship with employees and other professionals promoting good IT practices.
  • Establish system monitoring, routine security audits and maintenance schedules.
  • Management of backups/replication to disaster recovery platforms.
  • Respond to system incidents and troubleshoot to resolution.
  • Ensure system compliance with GDPR and Cyber Essentials.
  • Manage IT policies and internal training requirements, including cyber security training.
  • Manage network needs across our various sites.

What we're looking for:

  • At least 5 years experience as a lead IT administrator.
  • Strong IT literacy.
  • Highly organised and an ability to work independently.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to process improvement.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong administration skills, familiar with Google Workspace, Azure Active Directory and AWS.
  • Professional, user-friendly attitude willing to engage with employees to assist with day-to-day IT issues face to face or remotely.
  • Strong communication (both verbal and written) .
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work within deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and respond quickly to new challenges.
  • Flexibility in working on-site and remotely.
  • Experience in Windows desktop, Apple Mac and server system administration.
  • Knowledge of 3CX, Freshdesk and Slack is desirable but not essential.
  • Technical certification e.g Google, ITIL Foundation, AWS.
  • SQL database experience advantageous.
