Location: Portsmouth, Broad Oak

Duration: 12 months

Working Arrangements: Full Time Onsite

Hourly Rate: 41.87 PAYE or £56.44 Umbrella

Role Overview

The Infrastructure Support Engineer (LSIF) will support the operation, maintenance, and ongoing development of the Lightning Systems Integration Facility (LSIF), which underpins UK testing and integration of the F-35 Lightning II aircraft.

You will assist with infrastructure changes, system maintenance, testing event preparation, and management of government-furnished equipment. The role requires effective coordination with suppliers, partners, and internal teams to ensure systems remain operational and available. Full training on LSIF systems will be provided, with the expectation that you’ll become a key technical expert within the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily operation of the LSIF
• Assist with hardware configuration, maintenance, and build activities
• Support facility security processes and access control tasks
• Contribute to planning and delivery of testing events
• Assist with managing LSIF equipment, software, and documentation
• Maintain configuration control of assets and system updates
• Become an expert user and administrator of LSIF systems

Knowledge & Skills (Essential/Beneficial)

• IT networking experience (Cisco preferred)
• Understanding of LAN/WAN environments
• General IT troubleshooting and system administration skills
• Experience with Microsoft Server and virtualisation technologies
• Awareness of IT security processes and patching
• Ability to install and manage IT hardware
• Familiarity with ITIL processes (beneficial)
