Facility Engineer
Contract: 12 months
Based: Broadoak, Portsmouth
Hourly Rate: £41.87 PAYE or £56.44 Umbrella inside ir35
Hours: 37 hours Monday – Friday
The Lightning Systems Integration Facility (LSIF), based within the Maritime Integration & Support Centre (MISC), supports testing and integration of the F-35 Lightning II aircraft into UK military infrastructure.
BAE Systems are seeking a Facility Engineer to support the implementation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of the LSIF within this environment.
This role will include commissioning networks between key facility areas, maintaining government-furnished IT equipment (including large servers), and supporting testing events and facility reconfiguration.

Skills:
- IT networking (Cisco and other vendors such as F5, McAfee)
- LAN/WAN infrastructure, network device configuration and troubleshooting
- IT monitoring tools (e.g., WhatsUpGold, SCCM, SCOM, SNMP, SysLog)
- Cisco VOIP administration
- IT system interconnection across multiple security classifications
- Support the day-to-day running of the LSIF
- Assist with the build, production and maintenance of LSIF hardware
- Assist with LSIF security matters (including IVCO duties)
- Support planning, execution and reporting of testing events
- Contribute to long-term facility planning
- Assist with procurement and management of LSIF hardware/software
- Maintain configuration control of assets, documents, change requests, passwords, etc.
- Become a resident expert in the administration of the government-provided system
