Field Service Engineer
Role: Field Service Engineer Type: Permanent Salary: £34,000 per annum + Car + Benefits (negotiable) Hours: 40 hours per week – Flex Time Location: Manchester / UK Wide Travel I’m currently representing an exciting high-tech business based in Manchester, supplying innovative technology to the water utilities industry across the UK and Europe. They’re looking for a Field Service Engineer to join them on a permanent basis to provide servicing, fault-find and repair on electro-mechanical systems. Field Service Engineer – Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for advanced water instruments in lab and field settings, mainly across the UK with occasional travel into Europe.
- Service, fault-find and repair of electronic, electrical and mechanical systems.
- Role is 80% field-based, requiring independence, flexibility, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Requires a solid grasp of engineering principles relevant to the water industry; prior experience in the sector is highly beneficial.
- Hands-on role involving troubleshooting, understanding instrument operation, and relaying product improvement suggestions.
- Extensive knowledge of electronic and mechanical engineering, evidenced through practical experience and/or academic qualifications.
- Able to work on-site with both production systems and developmental instruments.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, essential for a customer-facing role.
- Adaptable and flexible, with an open-minded approach to new ideas.
- Able to relay customer requirements and suggest product improvements effectively.
- Full UK driving licence and valid passport.
- Training in working within ATEX-rated environments or electrical installation would be advantageous.
