Senior Data Architect
Our client is seeking a Senior Data Architect to join their growing consultancy team. This role involves working within multidisciplinary Agile teams to design and deliver user-centred digital solutions, ensuring data is accessible, secure, and optimised to support evidence-based decision-making.
You will play a key role in defining enterprise-level data architecture, engaging with stakeholders, and delivering scalable data solutions integrated with business systems and processes. This is an opportunity for an experienced data professional to combine technical expertise with client-facing consultancy and leadership responsibilities.
Responsibilities• Define and implement data architectures aligned with organisational and enterprise-wide strategies.
• Develop and maintain architecture artefacts, including entity relationship models, data dictionaries, ETL/ELT definitions, and data lineage models.
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients, taking ownership of architectural decisions and solution design rationale.
• Establish governance frameworks to maintain integrity and consistency of data architecture.
• Embed data security principles and best practices into all data solutions.
• Define standards for data modelling across enterprise environments.
• Evaluate APIs, analyse data sources, and assess data quality, integrity, and timeliness.
• Reverse-engineer data models from existing systems where required.
• Create Agile user stories and support engineering teams throughout delivery.
• Support third-party suppliers to ensure system compatibility and integration.
• Contribute to integration and reconciliation testing processes.
• Develop data visualisations and insights using industry-standard reporting tools.
Requirements• Proven experience designing and delivering data architectures for diverse stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of data warehousing and data lake architectures, with experience on platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks.
• Experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
• Strong understanding of data security principles, including role-based access control.
• Advanced data modelling skills across data warehouses and datamarts.
• Experience migrating data from legacy systems to cloud-based architectures.
• Knowledge of OLTP and OLAP systems and their implementation.
• Experience developing and managing entity relationship models, data dictionaries, and ETL/ELT processes.
• Strong SQL proficiency; familiarity with SQL Server tools (SSMS, SSIS, SSRS) is advantageous.
• Experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Ability to work with APIs using tools such as Postman.
