Principal Product Designer

An agile UK-based SaaS is disrupting the digital research space with a high-growth platform used by over half a million users. Operating as a remote-first team that champions autonomy and high-impact innovation, they have built a sophisticated, security-first ecosystem powered by C#, .NET, and React. My client seeks a high-impact Principal Product Designer to be the design anchor for this AI-powered platform. In this pivotal role, you will bridge the gap between high-level product strategy and hands-on execution, owning the end-to-end user experience from the moment a user lands on the website to the point they derive deep value from the software.

You will not just design features. You will lead the evolution of a unified design language that spans marketing, brand storytelling, and complex product workflows. You will turn technical complexity into elegant clarity, using AI as a design partner to create user journeys that feel simple, fast, and empowering. If you are ready to play a defining role in scaling a platform built for the modern web, this is your chance to leave a lasting mark on a global product.

The Role

  • Product Design Leadership: Lead end-to-end design across user research, prototyping, and delivery, focusing on onboarding and AI-first workflows.
  • Web and Marketing Ownership: Own the UX and design for the public website and conversion-critical landing pages, ensuring brand consistency across all channels.
  • Player Coach Mentality: Act as a hands-on designer producing beautiful work while simultaneously setting standards, defining ways of working, and guiding a value-aligned design culture.
  • Data-Driven Design: Use qualitative and quantitative data from tools such as Mixpanel or Power BI to validate design decisions and measure what matters most to users.
  • Technical Innovation: Rapidly prototype using modern tools and translate complex AI outputs into elegant, accessible interfaces.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Engineering, Marketing, and Customer Success to ensure design excellence is embedded in every touchpoint.

About You

My client is seeking a thoughtful and experienced designer who is excited by complexity and motivated by impact. You are a proactive collaborator and a craft-led thinker who puts inclusive design at the heart of everything you create.

Skills and Experience

  • 8+ years in UX/UI or Product Design with a proven track record in B2B SaaS.
  • Experience in a leadership or senior role where you have influenced product strategy and brand identity.
  • Expert-level Figma skills and experience building scalable, cross-platform design systems.
  • The ability to balance vision with hands-on delivery, equally comfortable debating time to value in an app as you are discussing conversion rates on a landing page.
  • A deep commitment to accessibility, ensuring that great design is inclusive by default.
  • Confident communicator able to present design decisions with clarity and empathy to stakeholders.
  • Experience designing AI-first products, such as generative UX or intelligent recommendations.
  • Familiarity with SaaS metrics and product-led growth strategies.
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS for prototyping or collaboration.
  • Experience shaping design culture and uplifting team standards in a scale-up environment.

Your first six months as Principal Product Designer

  • Audit and Align: Conduct a comprehensive audit of friction points between the marketing site and the product app to ensure a seamless user experience.
  • Systematise: Establish a unified Figma library and design system used by both Product and Marketing teams to support rapid, consistent iteration.
  • Execute: Deliver high-impact UI for the next generation of AI features while simultaneously refreshing key conversion pages on the website.
  • Influence: Become the recognised voice of design in leadership meetings, using data-led rationale and insight to influence the product roadmap.
  • Optimise: Improve key metrics, including conversion, activation, and retention through evidence-based design choices.
