The role of IT Infrastructure Project Engineer
Our client, an award-winning short-break holiday company, is seeking a CCNA-qualified Cisco Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. The IT Infrastructure Project Engineer will be responsible for the timely delivery of various infrastructure projects across the company's locations. This role involves collaborating with delivery, infrastructure, and development teams to ensure effective project completion and working with vendors to enhance data cabling and optical fibre systems. The ideal candidate will hold a CCNA qualification and possess relevant experience with Cisco technologies.

This is a hybrid role, splitting your time between various client locations as required and home for the remainder. This contract is expected to last between 3-6 months in duration and is an inside IR35 position. Applicants applying for this role must be able to commit to getting to sites in Bedfordshire, the Southwest, Northwest, East Anglia, and the Midlands.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Project Management: Lead infrastructure deployments, managing the full project lifecycle. - Conduct implementation, configuration, and technical planning. - Collaborate with teams to meet evolving infrastructure needs
  • Technical Delivery: Provide hands-on support throughout project phases. - Install and configure networking equipment and infrastructure hardware. - Maintain technical documentation and assist with software deployments
  • Standards and Improvement: Develop and promote infrastructure standards and documentation. - Implement continuous improvement processes for deployment practices
  • Communication and Flexibility: Engage with suppliers, IT Project Managers, and teams effectively. - Demonstrate adaptability in delivery and support, with possible travel and flexible hours
  • Safety and Environmental Responsibility: Adhere to Health and Safety policies and assess the environmental impact of tasks
  • Additional Duties: Perform other assigned responsibilities as needed with proper training

Skills, Knowledge, and Attributes:

  • Relevant IT qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, CCNA)
  • 3 years of technical IT experience with diverse technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to implement processes, document procedures, and collaborate effectively with third-party resources
  • Networking experience, including Cisco, firewalls, VPN, and security
  • Experience in IT infrastructure and development projects
  • Strong business and technical communication skills, including technical writing
  • Background in medium to large enterprise organisations, adhering to ITIL standards'
