INTERNAL SALES APPRENTICE
The Internal Sales Apprentice is expected to understand and learn how the Sales Department works and is responsible for learning product specifications, prices, how delivery costs and times are calculated and how a modern Sales office operates.
Role
The Internal Sales Apprentice will work towards ensuring that goods, services and documentation are dealt with efficiently, that they are of the right quality, quantity, and that they are to the satisfaction of the Customer and Company.
Main Duties:
- To ‘buddy up’ with a member of the existing sales team to begin learning processes
- To learn how to use relevant aspects of the computer system
- To make outgoing Sales telephone calls
- To take telephone calls to the Sales office as part of the learning process
- To learn how to provide support for the external sales team
- To learn general administrative duties
- To attend any training sessions, “toolbox talks” or other company training given
- To liaise with other departments in order to understand how the whole Company operates
- To build up relationships with existing and new customers
- To learn how to be proactive in a busy Sales office environment
Health & Safety Responsibilities:
- To ensure they comply with the Company Health & Safety Manual and procedures
- To report all accidents / incidents / misuse of Company equipment immediately
- To develop good housekeeping practices within the office working areas
- To observe safe working practices in and around any equipment
Training
The apprentice will be allocated with an assessor who will visit them within the workplace once every 6-8 weeks. In addition, they will attend online lessons, once a fortnight. The apprentice will be expected to complete 6 hours 'off the job' each week.
On completion of this apprenticeship, there could be a permanent position available for the right candidate.
