UX/UI Product Designer
6-Month initial Contract
£500 per day (inside IR35)
Location: Paddington, London (2 days onsite, 3 days WFH)
PCR Digital is partnering with a leading UK consumer digital brand to hire an experienced UX/UI Designer to support a new product initiative within a high-performing eCommerce function.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a commercially focused Digital Product team responsible for delivering high-converting online shopping experiences across a large-scale retail platform.
You will sit within a dedicated squad working on a confidential new product, helping shape customer journeys that directly impact online sales performance and customer satisfaction.
Job Summary
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, high-fidelity UX/UI design across key eCommerce journeys including product discovery, configuration, basket, checkout, and payment.
This is a hands-on design execution role, not a UX/UI strategy-only position. Therefore, you must be confident creating polished Figma designs ready for engineering handover and building fully interactive prototypes for testing and stakeholder playback.
You will collaborate closely with Product Managers, CRO specialists, developers, commercial stakeholders, and data teams to translate business requirements and customer insight into intuitive, commercially effective digital experiences.
Required Experience & Skills
- 4+ years' experience delivering end-to-end UX/UI design within eCommerce or transactional digital environments
- Strong high-fidelity Figma expertise (production-ready designs, not low-fidelity wireframes)
- Demonstrable experience building interactive prototypes in Figma (clickthrough journeys, mobile interactions, basket flows, etc.)
- Proven experience working in complex digital retail environments (large consumer brands preferred)
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the confidence to present and defend design decisions
- Ability to interpret ambiguous briefs and translate them into structured, creative solutions
- Experience using research and analytics to inform and validate design decisions
Desirable Experience
- Experience within telecoms or other regulated industries
- Exposure to Open Banking or regulated payment journeys
- Experience using UserZoom (or similar tools) for user testing, playback, and insight interpretation
- Experience supporting CRO initiatives and A/B testing
- Understanding of design systems and scalable UX frameworks
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end UX/UI design delivery across acquisition and upgrade journeys
- Produce high-fidelity Figma outputs suitable for direct engineering implementation
- Build and iterate interactive prototypes to support testing and stakeholder validation
- Work closely with Product and Engineering to ensure technical feasibility and design integrity during build
- Collaborate with commercial, trading, and data teams to optimise customer journeys for conversion performance
- Use qualitative research and quantitative analytics to refine user experiences
- Support testing initiatives and apply learning from CRO experiments
- Present design concepts clearly and confidently to senior stakeholders
- Maintain UX consistency across device, SIM, and accessory purchase journeys
- Balance multiple workstreams while maintaining quality and delivery pace
Portfolio Requirements
- Examples of high-fidelity Figma designs
- Evidence of interactive prototypes built personally
- Clear examples of eCommerce journeys delivered
- Explanation of challenges faced and how they were solved
- Demonstrable commercial impact where possible (e.g., conversion uplift, performance improvements)
- Agency or freelance candidates should specify which clients they delivered eCommerce work for.
Personal Attributes
- Highly organised with strong time management skills
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, commercially driven environments
- Creative thinker with the confidence to "take ownership and run with it"
- Able to manage ambiguity and shifting priorities
- Strong communication skills across both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Collaborative and delivery-focused mindset
