PE Global is seeking an SAP S/4HANA Technical Architect (Finance & Treasury Platforms) for a leading global energy and commodities trading organisation undergoing large-scale digital and platform transformation.

This role is responsible for owning the end-to-end SAP architecture for finance and treasury systems, defining the technical vision, and ensuring delivery of a clean, scalable, API-driven S/4HANA landscape. You will operate at the intersection of enterprise architecture and SAP engineering, with a strong emphasis on solution integrity, extensibility, and long-term platform sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and govern the SAP S/4HANA architecture for finance and treasury domains, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
• Define and implement clean core architecture, leveraging in-app and side-by-side extensibility on SAP BTP.
• Design API-first, loosely coupled integration architectures across SAP and non-SAP systems (banking, trading platforms, data platforms).
• Lead the architecture and development approach for custom extensions using ABAP (OO), CDS Views, RAP, and Fiori/UI5.
• Establish and enforce engineering standards, development frameworks, and code quality practices across SAP teams.
• Architect integration patterns using SAP Integration Suite (CPI), messaging, and event-driven mechanisms.
• Define financial data architecture and data flows, ensuring consistency across S/4HANA, CFIN, and analytics platforms such as SAC.
• Drive performance architecture, including HANA optimization, data volume management, and high-throughput processing.
• Design and oversee landscape architecture (RISE with SAP, hybrid/cloud), including environments, transport strategy, and system scalability.
• Implement and champion DevOps practices within SAP (CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, release management).
• Ensure architecture complies with security, audit, and regulatory requirements, particularly for financial and treasury systems.
• Provide architectural oversight across all delivery phases, ensuring adherence to design principles and minimizing technical debt.

Candidate Profile

• 10+ years of SAP experience with a primary focus on technical architecture and solution design.
• Proven experience as a SAP Technical/Solution Architect on large-scale S/4HANA implementations.
• Deep expertise in ABAP (OO), CDS Views, RAP, and SAP Fiori/UI5.
• Strong hands-on experience with SAP BTP, including Integration Suite and Extension Suite.
• Demonstrated experience designing API-led and event-driven architectures in SAP landscapes.
• Expertise in SAP integration technologies (CPI/PI/PO) and external system integration patterns.
• Strong understanding of HANA architecture, performance tuning, and large data volume environments.
• Experience designing cloud and hybrid SAP landscapes, including RISE with SAP.
• Solid understanding of financial data structures within S/4HANA (FI/CO/TRM), from an architectural perspective (not purely functional).
• Experience implementing DevOps, CI/CD, and modern engineering practices in SAP environments.
• Strong knowledge of security, compliance, and governance frameworks in enterprise ERP systems.
• Industry experience in energy, commodities trading, or complex financial environments is highly advantageous.
• Relevant SAP certifications (S/4HANA, BTP, Architecture) preferred.
