ICT Support Technician Apprentice
You will work within Phoenix Printing Plates Ltd to provide first-line ICT support while developing your knowledge, skills and behaviours. The role will involve supporting users, maintaining computer systems, assisting with digital workflows, and ensuring technology is effectively utilised across the business.
Role
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide first-line support for hardware, software and network-related issues.
- Assist users with troubleshooting IT and system problems
- Support the installation, configuration and maintenance of desktop PCs, laptops and peripheral devices
- Maintain user accounts, passwords and access permissions under supervision
- Provide support for business software applications and digital production systems
- Assist with data entry, data management and data quality checks
- Help maintain accurate IT asset records and technical documentation
- Monitor and report IT incidents, escalating issues where appropriate
- Assist with system updates, data backups and cyber security best practices
- Support digital workflow processes within the printing and manufacturing environment
- Learn and develop the skills required to produce printing plates to company standards
- Learn how to operate specialist plate-making equipment safely and effectively to meet customer requirements
- Work confidently with knives and chemicals under supervision, adhering to all health and safety procedures
- Prepare and dispatch printing plates accurately to the correct destinations and within agreed timescales
- Deliver excellent customer service to colleagues, customers and other stakeholders
- Work as part of a team while developing technical, production and customer service skills
Training
Information Communications Technician Level 3.
You will attend a combination of online and face-to-face learning sessions at SGS College on a weekly basis during term time. Online sessions will be delivered via Microsoft Teams.
