Enterprise Data Architect – (Insurance Domain)
Key Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the Enterprise Data Architecture for the Insurance EDP, covering ingestion, storage, processing, governance, and consumption layers.
- Define target‐state data architecture and transition roadmaps from legacy insurance platforms (mainframe, PAS, claims systems) to modern EDP architectures.
- Establish and govern enterprise data models, canonical models, and domain‐aligned data structures (Policy, Claims, Finance, Actuarial, Risk).
- Define architecture standards and principles for data ingestion, transformation, storage, and access across the EDP.
- Ensure the platform supports regulatory, audit, security, and privacy requirements (e.g., GDPR, retention, lineage).
- Collaborate closely with Data Engineering, Analytics, Governance, and Business teams to ensure architectural alignment and reuse.
- Review solution designs and provide architecture assurance across delivery teams and programs.
- Influence and guide EDP reference architecture adoption and continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience as an Enterprise or Data Architect within Insurance or BFSI.
- Deep understanding of insurance data domains:
- Policy lifecycle, underwriting, endorsements, cancellations
- Claims (reserves, payments, recoveries)
- Finance and actuarial data
- Strong experience designing enterprise data architectures (data lake / warehouse / lakehouse patterns).
- Solid grounding in data modelling, data integration patterns, and data governance concepts.
- Experience defining architecture standards, principles, and guardrails.
- Ability to communicate complex architecture concepts to senior stakeholders and delivery teams.
