Senior Infrastructure Engineer (FTC)
We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join a global IT function within an international Oil & Gas Exploration & Production organisation.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role operating in a fast-paced, multi-site environment. You will take ownership of designing, supporting, and continuously improving a hybrid infrastructure spanning on-premises data centres and Microsoft Azure, while acting as a senior escalation point and mentor within the team.
Key Responsibilities:
Designing, building, and maintaining global IT infrastructure across on-prem and cloud platforms
Managing and optimising a hybrid Microsoft environment including Azure, Entra ID, and modern device management
Administering and supporting Windows and Linux server estates and core Microsoft services
Acting as 3rd-line escalation for complex infrastructure and platform issues
Leading infrastructure projects including upgrades, migrations, and new implementations
Collaborating with international stakeholders to ensure reliable, consistent IT service delivery
Contributing to the global IT roadmap and mentoring junior infrastructure engineers
Must have the following:
7+ years' experience in a senior infrastructure engineering role within a global or multi-site environment
Proven experience managing SCCM environments (including CMG, distribution points, multi-site setups, and Azure integration)
Strong communication skills
Deep expertise in Microsoft infrastructure and identity services, including Active Directory, GPOs, DNS, NPS/Radius, Certificate Services, and SMTP relays
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (IaaS & PaaS), Entra ID, Azure MDM, and Windows Autopilot
Advanced knowledge of VMware virtualisation (vSphere, vCenter, ESXi) and VDI platforms such as VMware Horizon, Citrix, or OLVM
Experience with enterprise server and storage platforms (HPE and Dell) and Veeam Backup & Replication, including tape libraries
Strong PowerShell Scripting and automation capability
Solid Linux experience (CentOS, Red Hat, Ubuntu)
Good networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs) with exposure to routing protocols such as OSPF
Experience with vulnerability management, patching, and security compliance

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with strong potential for conversion to a permanent role post FTC. Hybrid working with office base in West London and one day remote per week.
