Ensure subcontractor compliance with site procedures, safety standards, and quality expectations.

Review, sign off, and audit subcontractor activities, escalating performance or quality concerns to the Data Centre Operations Manager where required.

Produce accurate technical reports, asset records, and maintenance documentation, including tracking of critical spares and stock usage.

Leadership & Team Management

Oversee day-to-day performance of shift and day engineering teams, including coordination of holiday and sickness cover.

Support, mentor, and develop technicians and apprentices, fostering a positive, safety-focused, high-performance team culture.

Complete role-specific training aligned with the Data Centre Solutions training matrix and actively support continuous professional development across the team.

Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental (QHSE)

Champion QHSE standards through hazard reporting, near-miss investigations, toolbox talks, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Promote a proactive safety culture, ensuring all works are delivered in line with company and statutory requirements.

Lead by example in maintaining safe systems of work and operational discipline across the site.

Proven experience within a data centre or other critical environment, or in a supervisory role within Facilities Management.

HNC/HND in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or completion of a recognised engineering apprenticeship.

Current 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.

Strong working knowledge of critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure.

Confident communicator with the ability to engage effectively at all organisational levels.

Proactive, detail-oriented, and self-motivated, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Competent IT skills, including experience with maintenance management/CAFM systems and standard business software.

Calm, decisive, and resilient under pressure, particularly during critical incidents.

Flexible approach to work, including attendance at on-site and off-site training (with overnight stays where required).

Professional, enthusiastic, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational performance.
