POS Technical Pre-Sales & Solutions Specialist

This is a hands-on technical role supporting the UK & Ireland sales team across the full sales and onboarding cycle.

You will act as the main technical contact for customers and prospects — delivering demos, responding to RFPs, supporting solution design, and helping ensure smooth implementation of my clients POS hardware and software solutions.

The role is a mix of:

  • Technical pre-sales support
  • Early-stage technical qualification of new enquiries
  • Coordinating customer onboarding projects
  • Feeding customer requirements into product and engineering

My client does not currently have a formal Product function, so this role will also involve capturing development requests and clearly communicating them internally.

This is not a senior leadership position — it is a practical, delivery-focused role with scope to grow.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Pre-Sales Support

  • Support the sales team with product demos and technical presentations
  • Assist with RFP/RFI responses and tender documentation
  • Help qualify inbound enquiries from a technical perspective before passing to sales
  • Build solution proposals based on customer requirements
  • Provide clear technical explanations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Customer Onboarding & Project Support

  • Act as project lead for new customer implementations
  • Coordinate internally to ensure successful delivery
  • Track actions, timelines and risks
  • Support customers during certification and integration
  • Escalate systemic product or solution issues where needed

Product & Market Feedback

  • Capture new feature or development requests
  • Clearly document and communicate requirements to engineering
  • Support new product introductions and software updates
  • Keep customers informed of hardware/software changes and industry certifications
  • Monitor relevant payment industry or regulatory changes

General Support

  • Deliver product training where required
  • Track SDKs, demo devices and training materials
  • Support NDAs and technical input into contracts

Experience & Profile

  • 2+ years in technical pre-sales, solution support, or similar role (payments industry preferred but not essential)
  • Comfortable presenting and explaining technical solutions
  • Organised and structured in managing tasks and documentation
  • Able to work across sales, engineering and customer teams
  • Analytical mindset and willingness to learn new technologies
  • Comfortable in a growing business where processes are still being developed
  • Open to occasional travel
  • Hardware experience is helpful but not required.
