Product & Proposition Analyst – Cards – insider IR35 contractor.

Location: UK (Hybrid – London 1–2 days per week)

The Opportunity:

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a UK-based bank investing heavily in cards and embedded finance, supporting the build and evolution of a next-generation cards proposition.

You’ll work closely with senior leadership and the Product & Proposition Lead to help shape strategy, drive execution, and bring new card products and features to market.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Support the development and execution of the cards strategy and proposition roadmap
  • Work across end-to-end card payment journeys (authorisation, clearing, settlement, disputes)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, technology, operations, compliance, and commercial
  • Analyse data to identify trends, performance gaps, and optimisation opportunities (e.g. approval rates, customer behaviour)
  • Translate complex insights into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders
  • Support product launches, including requirements gathering, testing, and go-live coordination
  • Help manage project timelines, risks, and dependencies across multiple initiatives
  • Contribute to customer and market analysis, helping shape value propositions and segment strategies
  • Prepare materials for senior stakeholders, including presentations and business cases

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years’ experience within cards, payments, or fintech
  • Strong understanding of card payment flows and ecosystem (issuer, acquirer, schemes such as Visa / Mastercard)
  • Experience supporting product or proposition development within a cards environment
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to understand customer needs and value drivers
  • Strong analytical skills (Excel essential; experience interpreting transactional/payment data)
  • Proven ability to work across cross-functional teams and complex environments
  • Excellent communication skills — able to simplify complexity and influence stakeholders
  • Experience supporting projects or product launches
