Product & Proposition Lead – Cards (Embedded Finance)

Role Title:

Role Purpose:

Lead the strategy, design, and execution of a card-based proposition within an embedded finance ecosystem, driving growth, customer adoption, and commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy & Ownership-

Define and execute the end-to-end cards strategy (credit/debit/virtual)
Build a scalable cards business
Identify new revenue streams across embedded finance use cases

Product & Proposition Development-

Lead product ideation, design, and roadmap
Translate market opportunities into commercial card propositions
Own go-to-market strategy for new launches

Cards & Payments Expertise-

Deep understanding of:
Authorisation flows
Scheme rules (e.g. Mastercard / Visa)
Interchange, settlement, disputes
Manage relationships with:
Issuers / BIN sponsors
Processors
Networks

Embedded Finance & Partnerships-

Build propositions for partners embedding card products
Work with fintechs, platforms, and merchants
Drive BaaS / embedded card use cases

Leadership & Stakeholder Management-

Partner with senior executives and board-level stakeholders
Lead cross-functional teams (product, tech, compliance, commercial)
Influence internally and externally

Delivery & Execution-

Oversee end-to-end product launches
Ensure regulatory and scheme compliance
Drive performance metrics (activation, spend, approval rates)

Key Requirements:

Experience-

15+ years in cards / payments
Proven track record building or scaling a cards business

Experience in:

Issuer side (bank) OR
Network (e.g. Mastercard/Visa) OR
Fintech (issuer processor / embedded finance)

Technical / Domain Expertise-

Strong knowledge of:
Card lifecycle
Authorisation & clearing
Scheme economics
Experience launching:
Credit cards / debit cards / virtual cards

Commercial & Leadership-

Experience working with C-suite stakeholders
Strong product ownership mindset
Leadership of large-scale initiatives or teams

Nice to Have-

Embedded finance / BaaS experience
Exposure to modern tech stacks / APIs
Experience with fintech partnerships
