Technical Account Manager – Latin America (Spanish Speaker)

This hire will be London (hybrid based) focusing on Latin America is responsible for driving end-to-end acceptance health across a portfolio of Key Merchants who are accepting payments with my clients Payment network, with a primary focus on Mexico and the wider LatAm region.

This role owns the identification, analysis, and remediation of card acceptance breakages, ensuring seamless transaction performance across all relevant BIN ranges

Acting as the bridge between data insights and market execution, the Technical Account Manager leverages transaction analytics, identifies gaps versus expected baselines, and influences acquirers, processors, and partners to resolve issues efficiently.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • Monitor and manage a portfolio of priority merchants, identifying acceptance gaps using transaction data, trend analysis, and baseline modelling.
  • Lead root cause analysis and remediation of payment failures across POS and e-commerce environments.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for acceptance issues, coordinating with internal technical teams (“remediators”) and external partners.
  • Influence acquirers, gateways, and processors to prioritise and resolve breakages impacting transaction performance.
  • Partner with Country Managers and senior stakeholders to drive visibility, accountability, and resolution at all levels.
  • Support market expansion and acceptance enablement initiatives across Latin America.
  • Deliver clear, tailored reporting to both technical teams and senior leadership, highlighting risks, progress, and wins.

Requirements:

  • Fluency in Spanish and English (essential) – ability to operate effectively with regional partners across Latin America.
  • Strong experience in the payments ecosystem, ideally within a card scheme, acquirer, or acceptance-focused role.
  • Proven track record in technical acceptance, payment optimisation, or transaction performance management.
  • Experience working with acquirers, gateways, and merchant integrations.
  • Advanced skills in Excel/data analysis, trend analysis, and root cause investigation.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with experience engaging senior stakeholders.
