Financial Planning SME

About the Role:

We are seeking a Financial Planning Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our Digital Strategy Programme. You will lead the design and implementation of future financial planning and analysis solutions, driving improvements in budgeting, forecasting, modelling, and strategic planning to support the organisation's long-term objectives.

This is a business-facing role, engaging with senior stakeholders, SMEs, and end-users to deliver best-practice processes that integrate people, data, systems, and strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as SME for financial planning, shaping to-be processes and resolving current limitations.
• Lead improvements across budgeting, forecasting, modelling, reporting, and strategic planning.
• Design and implement forecasting and scenario analysis methodologies to inform decision-making.
• Strengthen reporting, governance, and compliance frameworks.
• Partner with implementation teams to ensure effective solution design, testing, and deployment.
• Support training, change management, and adoption of new processes.
• Champion automation, data quality, and advanced analytics to drive efficiency and insight.

Experience & Skills:

• Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Skilled in financial modelling, analysis, and reporting.
• Proficient in ERP systems and financial planning tools.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Analytical thinker with strong financial acumen.
• Resilient, adaptable, and able to work in fast-paced, changing environments.

Qualifications:

• Relevant qualification in Finance preferred.

Other Information:

• Some travel may be required.
• Flexibility to support wider programme activities as needed.
