Customs Clearance Clerk

Location: Dover
Salary: £31,997 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: 12-hour day and night shifts
Contract: Permanent, Full-time

PSM Recruitment is working with a well-established and respected international logistics business in Dover to recruit an experienced Customs Clearance Clerk. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy, supportive team where you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth movement of goods across international borders. This position operates on 12-hour day and night shifts, offering a varied and fast-paced working environment.

As a Customs Clearance Clerk, you will be responsible for ensuring Customs declarations are completed accurately and efficiently, helping to keep freight moving while maintaining full compliance with Customs regulations.

• Preparing and processing Customs declarations and associated documentation.
• Accurately entering information into Customs systems.
• Liaising with customers, hauliers, internal departments and Customs authorities.
• Resolving Customs queries quickly and professionally.
• Monitoring shipments and proactively dealing with any issues.
• Ensuring compliance with current Customs legislation and procedures.
• Working closely with colleagues to provide an efficient end-to-end Customs clearance service.

• A minimum of 3 years’ current Customs Clearance experience.
• A strong understanding of UK Customs procedures and compliance.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Good IT skills and experience using Customs software.
