Python Developer (Oxford)

Python Developer | Oxford (Hybrid 2 days per week) | Permanent | Up to £80,000 Per Annum

Peaple Talent have partnered with a brilliant client looking to recruit a Python Developer in Oxford. This is a hybrid role, and would require you to be on-site two days per week.

You will play a key role in developing and enhancing our client’s platform. You’ll be part of a skilled and diverse group of engineers focused on creating robust, scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintaining existing systems and developing new ones from the ground up.
• Collaborate with wider teams to understand their challenges and translate them into practical software solutions.
• Follow a structured SDLC, write clean, well-tested code and ensure services deploy correctly into our client’s Kubernetes environment.
• Engineers share a responsibility for being part of their on-call rotation, acting as the first lien of support for software-related issues.

Key Experience Required:

• Previous commercial experience working with Python in a professional setting.
• A track record of technical leadership and ownership.
• Solid understanding of modern API frameworks like FastAPI, Django, or similar tools.
• Strong experience with database modelling in Python, ideally using SQLAlchemy or equivalent ORMs.
• A proactive mindset, comfortable in a dynamic environment managing real-time, operational systems.
• Commitment to writing clean, well-tested, and maintainable code.
• A collaborative and transparent approach to problem-solving, both technically and interpersonally.
• Ability to clearly explain complex concepts and solutions to both technical peers and non-technical stakeholders.
