Apprentice Fire & Security Installation Technician
Pyrocel Ltd are seeking a motivated and committed Apprentice Fire & Security Installation Engineer to join their team, based in Newcastle upon Tyne. The successful candidate will receive training in the installation and testing of fire alarm, CCTV, intruder alarm and access control systems under the supervision of experienced engineers.
Role
The role will involve working on projects throughout the North East of England, assisting with installations and developing an understanding of relevant British Standards and approved installation methods while undertaking appropriate training and qualifications.
A willingness to learn, a professional attitude and a strong commitment to developing practical skills are essential
Main duties include:
- Assist experienced engineers with the installation of fire alarms, CCTV, intruder alarms and access control systems
- Support the testing, commissioning and maintenance of fire and security systems to ensure they operate effectively
- Install cables and system equipment and connect to control panels and networks
- Working to system specifications, plans, schematics and drawings
- Safe use of hand tools and following site rules
- To maintain a safe, tidy, clean and secure working environment and adhere to Pyrocel Ltd Health and Safety Policy
Probationary period applies.
Training
Fire, Emergency and Security Systems Level 3 apprenticeship standard – will attend a combination of weekly/fortnightly day release at our Team Valley training centre.
The role will develop over time in terms of duties and responsibilities.
From Year 3 onwards, the apprentice will be responsible for their own jobs, and gradually the team will increase the range of work that they are given whilst receiving ongoing training to enhance their skills.
