We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a DV Cleared Software Engineer to join a small, fast-paced Agile delivery team delivering secure software solutions for the UK Government and Defence sector.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on challenging, real-world projects where you'll build backend systems, data processing pipelines and progressive web applications while applying modern software engineering and DevOps practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and test secure software solutions.
- Develop backend systems, data processing pipelines and progressive web applications.
- Work across the full Software Development Lifecycle, including:
- Project concept formalisation
- Requirements analysis and specification
- Software architecture design
- Software implementation and delivery
- Software training and support
- Software lifecycle maintenance
- Build and maintain Continuous Integration (CI) pipelines using GitLab to ensure software quality and security.
- Deploy software to AWS, Azure and private cloud environments.
- Apply DevOps techniques including containerisation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD).
- Collaborate within Agile teams using Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by adopting emerging technologies and engineering best practices.
About You
You'll ideally have experience with:
- Contemporary software engineering principles and best practices.
- Developing full-stack software solutions using appropriate technologies and design patterns.
- Full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms.
- DevOps methodologies and practices.
- Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
- Containerisation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- GitLab or similar version control and CI tools.
- Agile methodologies including Scrum and Kanban.
- Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
- A passion for learning new technologies and continuous improvement.
- A stable employment history with evidence of long-term commitment in previous software engineering roles is essential.

Essential Requirement
Applicants must hold active UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance through Central Government (not MOD), which has been used within the last 12 months.
