Senior Software Engineer (FinTech | Python/Ruby/Go/Node | £130,000)

Role: Senior Product Engineer

Location: London, Hybrid (Come to the office when needed not set days)

Compensation: Up to £140,000 + equity

We're partnered with a fast-growing technology company building world-class API products that simplify complex operational challenges for global businesses. They prioritise engineering excellence, lean teams, and a culture built on ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

As a Senior Product Engineer, you'll work across the full product lifecycle; from understanding customer problems to designing, building, and operating scalable, reliable API products used by companies around the world.

You'll help shape technical direction, influence engineering culture, and work closely with product, design, and cross-functional partners to deliver high-impact solutions.

What you'll do

  • Own end-to-end delivery of API-driven products that automate complex operational workflows for customers.
  • Spend a significant portion of your time building; from backend business logic to frontend interfaces.
  • Design scalable systems and maintainable architectures across distributed services.
  • Ensure quality through thoughtful design, robust testing, and continuous iteration.
  • Operate what you build in production, taking responsibility for performance, reliability and long-term maintainability.
  • Break down complex problems and propose simple, pragmatic solutions.
  • Collaborate with product managers to co-own the roadmap.
  • Gather, record and analyse data sets to inform product decisions.
  • Deeply understand customer needs, competitive landscape, and the real-world pain points you're solving.
  • Use every learning to improve both product and engineering practices.

You should have

  • A strong sense of ownership and a builder's mindset — you care deeply about what you ship and how it impacts customers.
  • Experience designing, scaling, and operating backend services or microservices.
  • Proficiency in multiple modern languages; their stack includes Node.js with Typescript, Go, React, and PostgreSQL, but they value adaptability over specific tools.
  • Experience working across the stack, or eagerness to expand into frontend or infrastructure when needed.
  • High standards for code quality, testing, and maintainability.
  • Comfort with change, shifting priorities, evolving goals, and a dynamic startup environment.
  • A bias toward shipping fast, learning continuously, and iterating with data.
  • A collaborative, compassionate approach and willingness to give and receive feedback.

Why it's exciting

  • Build products that fundamentally change how global companies handle complex operational and compliance challenges.
  • Work in a lean, high-growth environment with tons of ownership and exposure.
  • Join a supportive engineering culture built around collaboration, kindness, and constant improvement.
  • Influence architecture, product direction, and engineering practices in a company scaling rapidly.
  • Ship continuously, learn constantly, and make a meaningful impact every day.

If you're excited about building high-quality, scalable products in a fast-moving environment, where engineers truly own what they build and directly shape the future of the platform then we'd love to hear from you.
