Senior Analyst Modeller – Customer Analytics

Location: Fully Remote

Contract: 6 months initially, with potential to extend to 12 months and possible permanent opportunity

Rate: Up to £500

IR35: Inside IR35

Start: ASAP

We are currently recruiting for 2 x Senior Analyst Modellers to join a leading global data and technology organisation within its Consumer Analytics function.

This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced analyst who can combine strong technical modelling capability with commercial thinking, using customer data to predict behaviour, identify opportunities and directly influence Product and Marketing decisions.

You will join a cross-functional analytics team and work closely with senior stakeholders, taking ownership of projects from initial brief through to analysis, modelling and presentation of recommendations.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading analytical projects supporting Product and Marketing initiatives.
  • Using SQL to interrogate and analyse large customer datasets.
  • Developing segmentation and predictive models to understand and predict customer behaviour.
  • Identifying customer profiles and behaviours to support targeting and growth strategies.
  • Translating complex analysis into clear, commercially focused insights.
  • Producing outputs and presenting findings through PowerPoint, Excel and other reporting formats.
  • Working with stakeholders to understand business questions and independently develop analytical solutions.
  • Identifying opportunities where data and modelling can unlock commercial value.
  • Contributing to areas such as customer lifecycle management, personalisation and marketing effectiveness.
Example Projects

The successful candidate could work across projects such as:

  • Predictive modelling: Identifying customers most likely to take out products such as mortgages, loans or subscriptions.
  • Customer lifetime value: Understanding customer tenure, value over time and when customer value begins to decline.
  • Marketing attribution: Analysing customer acquisition across different marketing channels and understanding the customer journey.
  • Next Best Action: Using customer behaviour and data to determine what a customer is most likely to need or want next.
  • Personalisation: Supporting algorithms and analytical approaches that deliver more relevant digital experiences.
  • Segmentation: Identifying distinct customer groups and using insights to improve targeting and proposition development.
What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who can work autonomously from a high-level brief, rather than needing to be closely managed. You should be comfortable determining the appropriate analytical approach, completing the analysis and clearly communicating the results to stakeholders.

Essential experience includes:

  • Strong SQL skills and confidence working with large datasets.
  • 4+ years' experience in an analytics/modelling environment.
  • Experience with predictive modelling and/or customer segmentation.
  • Strong numerical and analytical capability.
  • Ability to translate data into commercially focused insights.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Excellent data storytelling skills and the ability to explain complex findings clearly.
  • Strong critical-thinking skills.
  • A numerate degree such as Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Physics or a similar discipline.
  • Comfortable working with tables, data and analytical outputs.
  • Experience producing and presenting analysis using tools such as PowerPoint and Excel.
Desirable Experience

Experience in any of the following would be particularly valuable:

  • Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) modelling.
  • Churn or customer decay modelling.
  • Marketing channel attribution.
  • A/B testing.
  • Next Best Action.
  • Personalisation algorithms.
  • Customer lifecycle management.
  • Product or marketing analytics.
  • Subscription-based businesses.
  • Banking, lending, financial services or fintech.
  • Buy Now, Pay Later or similar consumer finance environments.

Candidates from subscription businesses, digital consumer organisations, banks, lenders and fintechs are likely to have particularly relevant experience.

If you are an experienced Senior Analyst / Modeller with strong SQL, predictive modelling or segmentation experience and enjoy turning customer data into commercially actionable insights, we'd be keen to hear from you.
