Business Development Manager

Location: London

Hybrid: 3 Days a Week

Our client is a globally recognised leader in legal insight, news, and intelligence. While they hold a dominant position in the US market, they are now launching a dedicated expansion into EMEA with significant resource and ambition. We are seeking a high-calibre Business Development Manager to spearhead this growth as the first dedicated revenue hire for the region.

This is a senior individual contributor role based in London, designed for a "hunter" who thrives on building from the ground up and possesses a clear trajectory toward future team management.

As the Business Development Manager, you will be the commercial bridge between the established US leadership and the emerging EMEA market. Your mission is to drive net-new subscriptions by establishing a repeatable sales motion and positioning a premier intelligence platform as an essential tool for legal and business decision-makers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Market Entry & Pipeline Leadership: Build and execute a regional plan to introduce the platform to high-value prospects, including law firms, in-house legal teams, and professional services.
  • Full-Cycle Sales: Lead all outbound efforts, from initial prospecting and high-quality product demos to complex commercial negotiations and closing.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Partner with US leadership, Marketing, and Revenue Operations to refine messaging, pricing, and regional Go-To-Market strategies.
  • Stakeholder Management: Navigate complex organisational structures to develop senior "champions" and manage multi-stakeholder buying groups.
  • Future Leadership: Document sales methodologies and contribute to hiring and onboarding frameworks as the EMEA team scales.

Candidate Profile

  • A proven track record in B2B new business sales, ideally within legal, SaaS, compliance, or media intelligence sectors.
  • Expertise in managing multi-stakeholder sales cycles involving procurement, legal, and technical reviews.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to "own the room" when engaging senior audiences.
  • A self-motivated, disciplined approach to prospecting and pipeline generation.
