A leading global technology organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join its London-based legal team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer with strong technology and commercial contracting experience to play a key role in supporting high-value, strategic client engagements across an international business.

The role will suit a solicitor who began their career in private practice and has since gained in-house legal experience, and who enjoys working closely with commercial teams to negotiate complex agreements and support business growth.

The Role Reporting to the Head of Legal, the successful candidate will lead negotiations on complex commercial and technology agreements while partnering closely with senior stakeholders across sales, procurement, finance, compliance and delivery teams.

This position offers the opportunity to work on large-scale technology and digital transformation projects, providing strategic legal guidance on enterprise deals and helping shape contracting processes within a global organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements including:
    • Master Services Agreements (MSAs)
    • Statements of Work (SoWs)
    • Outsourcing agreements
    • SaaS and cloud services agreements
    • Technology licensing arrangements
  • Lead legal negotiations on strategic and enterprise-level deals.
  • Advise senior stakeholders on legal and commercial risk, providing clear negotiation strategies and recommendations.
  • Partner closely with internal teams including Sales, Procurement, Finance and Compliance to align legal advice with business objectives.
  • Develop and improve contract templates, playbooks and internal processes.
  • Support the development of legal operations, including contract lifecycle management and adoption of legal technology tools.
  • Mentor junior members of the legal team where appropriate.
Candidate Profile Essential Requirements
  • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales
  • Approximately 6–10 years PQE
  • Private practice training is essential (ideally in commercial, technology or outsourcing law)
  • Subsequent in-house legal experience
  • Strong experience negotiating complex commercial and technology contracts
Experience & Skills
  • Expertise in contracts relating to IT services, managed services, SaaS, cloud services or digital transformation programmes
  • Strong understanding of key contracting risk areas including:
    • Intellectual property
    • Data protection
    • Information security
    • Emerging technologies such as AI
  • Ability to advise senior stakeholders on commercial risk and negotiation strategy
  • Strong gravitas with the confidence to operate in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Proven track record across both private practice and in-house roles with strong career stability.
Working Model This role operates on a hybrid working model, with a requirement to attend the London office a minimum of three days per week.
