Our client is a highly successful business with overseas interests.  It is  seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Finance Systems Analyst to join its dynamic team. This is a pivotal role that acts as the key interface between the Finance and IT functions. The successful candidate will drive the continuous improvement, optimisation, and effective deployment of its financial systems— most notably Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC).

Rather than focusing on transactional finance tasks such as journal postings or ledger reconciliations, this position is centred on strategic system enhancement, process efficiency, and ensuring that its financial systems are fully aligned with the company’s  business objectives and ongoing global expansion.

Key Responsibilities : System Improvement & Project Management • Serve as the liaison between Finance users, external consultants, tax advisors, auditors, and internal IT teams to translate complex business requirements into actionable technical solutions. • Lead and contribute to end-to-end Finance systems projects, including upgrades, integrations, and localisation initiatives (e.g., adapting Business Central to meet German tax and regulatory standards). • Conduct detailed requirements gathering, scope definition, and documentation for new functionalities, system enhancements, and process improvements. • Analyse and identify inefficiencies within existing systems and workflows, recommending and implementing sustainable, long-term solutions.

 Stakeholder Management & Training

 Design and deliver comprehensive training sessions and materials for Finance users to ensure effective adoption of new system features and best practices, overseeing test planning, execution, issue tracking, and resolution prior to deployment..  Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all Finance system-related queries, ensuring data integrity and streamlined process flows within Business Central. System Maintenance & Documentation • Maintain detailed and up-to-date documentation, including process maps, configuration records, and change management logs. • Support month-end and year-end close activities by ensuring system readiness and resolving potential system-related challenges proactively.

Essential Skills & Experience • Proven experience as a Systems Accountant, Finance Systems Analyst, or similar, with a strong emphasis on project delivery and continuous improvement. • Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC) in a configuration, implementation, or support capacity. • Strong financial acumen, supported by a formal accounting qualification (part-qualified or qualified) or substantial finance department experience. • Proficiency in business analysis methodologies, including requirements gathering, process mapping, and documentation. • Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation. • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to non-technical audiences. Desirable Skills • Experience delivering ERP localisation projects, including statutory reporting and tax/VAT configuration for international regions (e.g., Germany). • Working knowledge of reporting and analytics tools integrated with Business Central (e.g., Power BI). • Previous experience in the Retail or Fashion industry would be an advantage..
