Mobile Development Team Lead
Mobile Development Lead Hybrid – 3 days per week onsite We're working with a growing business that is investing heavily in its technology function and looking for a Mobile Development Lead to take ownership of a talented mobile engineering team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being both a technical leader and people manager, with the chance to influence mobile architecture, engineering standards and the way products are delivered. The Role: You'll lead a multidisciplinary engineering team, supporting developers through coaching, mentoring and technical leadership while remaining close enough to the technology to influence key decisions. You'll be involved in:
Leading, mentoring and developing a team of software engineers
Driving mobile architecture and technical design decisions
Working with Flutter, APIs, Firebase and third-party integrations
Establishing good engineering standards and development practices
Leading code reviews and encouraging clean, maintainable code
Promoting modern approaches to development, including AI-assisted engineering tools
Working closely with Product and wider Engineering teams to deliver valuable customer-focused features
Making pragmatic technical decisions and balancing technical improvements with commercial priorities
Supporting a positive, collaborative engineering culture
What We're Looking For We're looking for someone with a strong background in mobile development who has stepped into, or is ready to take on, a genuine technical leadership position. You'll ideally have:
Experience leading or line managing software engineers
Strong hands-on experience with mobile application development and architecture
Experience with Flutter or a comparable mobile technology
A solid understanding of APIs, integrations and modern software development principles
Strong knowledge of OOP, SOLID and code quality practices
Experience with Git-based development workflows
The ability to make architectural decisions and communicate technical concepts clearly
A genuine interest in developing people and building high-performing engineering teams
A customer and product-focused mindset
Experience with e-commerce, CMS platforms, analytics tools or AI-assisted development would be advantageous, but isn't essential. Why Consider It?
