We’re looking for a Cyber Security Engineer with a strong foundation in web application security and a genuine interest in Linux and modern microservices environments. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys identifying real security risks, working across a variety of technologies, and contributing to the security and resilience of complex systems.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience conducting web application security testing using tools such as Burp Suite or OWASP, ZAP
- Ability to analyse and validate automated security findings, distinguishing real risks from false positives
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, ports)
- Solid understanding of Linux fundamentals (processes, permissions, filesystems, services)
- Experience working with the command line and basic scripting
- Ability to interpret logs, alerts, and technical documentation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise reports
- A methodical, detail-oriented approach with strong problem-solving skills
- Experience using GitHub (pull requests, repositories, branching)
Nice to Have
- Exposure to containerised environments and Kubernetes
- Experience supporting container security (image scanning, runtime controls, access management)
- Familiarity with Linux hardening standards (CIS benchmarks, STIGs)
- Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or SELinux
- Awareness of vulnerability scanning tools such as Nessus
- Basic scripting skills (Bash or Python)
- Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Ansible
