Senior Account Executive

At Pencil, we are driving innovation in advertising technology through our state-of-the-art SaaS product, which harnesses Generative AI to redefine content creation. Our mission is to make AI the default in advertising without replacing creative people.

You'll own the full sales cycle - from identifying opportunities to closing complex, high-value deals by helping global clients reimagine how they create and scale advertising. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for an experienced enterprise seller who thrives in fast-moving, creative technology environments. You'll work closely with internal teams to ensure every deal delivers long-term value - not just new revenue, but lasting partnerships that help make AI the default in advertising.

Key responsibilities:

  • Own the full enterprise sales cycle from prospecting and qualification through to close and handover.
  • Generate and develop a sales pipeline via inbound, outbound, events, and Brandtech Group relationships.
  • Close new enterprise deals in the $100–500k range, combining SaaS subscriptions with creative services.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers across enterprise brands.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, helping clients understand how Pencil's platform can solve creative and marketing challenges.
  • Deliver compelling product demos and commercial proposals, adapting your approach for each sector and stakeholder.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, and Client Delivery teams to ensure seamless onboarding and long-term client success.
  • Forecast accurately, maintain CRM hygiene, and report pipeline health and performance regularly.
  • Contribute to playbooks and best practices for enterprise sales as Pencil's go-to-market approach scales.

Your background:

  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise SaaS sales, ideally in marketing tech, creative tech, or AI-driven products.
  • Proven track record of closing large SaaS and service deals ($100–500k).
  • Experience in consultative selling, using discovery-led conversations to understand client challenges and map them to high-value solutions.
  • A track record of leading solution-focused sales cycles, uncovering business pain points and tailoring proposals that drive measurable outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of the SaaS business model, renewal dynamics, and multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles.
  • Expert in modern sales methodologies such as MEDDPICC, Challenger, or SPIN.
  • Excellent communicator - confident presenting to C-level, influencing across complex organizations, and writing clear, persuasive proposals.
  • Skilled negotiator who balances commercial goals with long-term relationship value.
  • Proficient with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and familiar with marketing technologies and digital advertising workflows.
  • Ideally, you would be comfortable working from our London office (The Shard) office one day per week.

You'll Thrive Here If You...

  • You think commercially - you love the chase, but care just as much about delivering long-term client success.
  • You act like an owner - accountable for your pipeline, results, and the experience you deliver.
  • You're strategic and disciplined - you know how to qualify rigorously, forecast accurately, and close predictably.
  • You value creativity and technology - you can speak to marketers about outcomes, not just features.
  • You're collaborative - you bring teams together to win and celebrate shared success.
  • You're energised by growth - you enjoy building something new and being part of a fast-scaling business.
