About the Role

The Test Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing end-to-end test delivery across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with client expectations and Inspired Testing standards.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic & Delivery Management
  • Define and implement test strategies aligned with project objectives and enterprise quality standards
  • Own the test lifecycle across projects: including test planning, estimations, execution, defect management, reporting and sign-off
  • Work closely with client stakeholders, project managers, business analysts and technical teams to ensure test deliverables are accurate and timely
  • Coordinate across multi-disciplinary teams including QA, development, business and DevOps
  • Identify, manage and escalate test-related risks proactively
  • Oversee resource allocation, task planning and delivery commitments across client engagements
  • Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead, mentor and coach test teams (manual, automation, performance or hybrid roles) to grow in capability and effectiveness
  • Support skills development, training recommendations and performance feedback for test team members
  • Conduct reviews of test plans, automation frameworks, performance test scripts and defect reports
  • Encourage participation in the Inspired Testing Community of Practice and alignment with company standards and initiatives
  • Governance, Quality & Reporting
  • Define and maintain test metrics, dashboards and regular status reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases and defects
  • Maintain quality gate ownership during CI/CD processes and ensure alignment with client SLDC (Agile, Scrum, SAFe or Waterfall)
  • Drive continuous improvement of test processes, automation maturity and quality delivery models

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in software testing with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role
  • Experience managing both manual and automation teams preferred
  • Exposure to performance or non-functional testing is advantageous
  • ISTQB Advanced Test Manager certification (or equivalent) is advantageous

Required Skills

  • Technical Skills
  • Solid understanding of test automation, frameworks and modern tools (e.g. Selenium, Appium, Postman, Cucumber, Neoload etc.)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Git or similar
  • Working knowledge of API, performance, security and accessibility testing
  • Ability to work across diverse technology stacks, platforms (web, mobile, backend) and domains
  • Leadership & Communication
  • Proven experience managing QA teams of 5+ people across multiple projects or streams
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and expectation management skills
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, mediate issues and influence decisions at various levels of the organisation
  • Process & Methodology
  • Advanced understanding of SDLC and STLC
  • Expertise in Agile, SAFe or hybrid delivery environments
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills (test plans, summary reports, dashboards)

Preferred Skills

  • Experience managing both manual and automation teams preferred
  • Exposure to performance or non-functional testing is advantageous
  • ISTQB Advanced Test Manager certification (or equivalent) is advantageous
