What You'll Be Doing

As part of the IT Service Management team you will be required to own and manage your assigned process as well as providing cover and support for the other processes in the area.

Design, implement, own and manage the Release Management policy, process and procedures ensuring they are relevant and current based on industry and department strategy changes. All documents should be aligned to ITIL best practice and reviewed and signed off on an annual basis.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all release related activities.
  • Manage the Release Schedule, ensuring this is communicated to all interested parties.
  • Ensure all releases to the Production environment are introduced with the correct level of governance & control
  • Ensure all releases are planned to the required level of detail, ensuring detailed run-throughs are completed ahead of releases to ensure all participants are aligned.
  • Ensure all releases are supported from a Release Management perspective, both in and out of hours.
  • Ensure Release reviews are conducted at all relevant stages, identifying any exceptions to agreed release criteria and appropriate responses are agreed with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform Post Implementation Reviews where required.
  • Ensure all required areas are trained in the Release Management Process

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience of managing complex IT Releases
  • A strong background in ITIL Service Management capability for Service Design, Transition & Operations
  • A good understanding of Major Incident Management, Problem, Change & Release Management, Disaster Recovery & Continuous Service Improvement Management
  • Excellent understanding of project & service management delivery methodology, frameworks, and best practice
  • Passionate about continuous service improvement and delivering results
  • Knowledge of DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines
