Perch Group are looking for a decision scientist to design and optimize data-driven solutions that support machine learning, statistical analysis, and predictive modelling. You’ll work closely with a team of analysts and the investment team to create high-quality, scalable data models that fuel AI-driven decision-making.

🗓So, what will your day-to-day look like?
- You will support the Head of Decision Science, with responsibility for overseeing the design, development, and continuous refinement of predictive and probabilistic models based on historic and real-time trends.
- You will guide the implementation of advanced techniques including XGBoost, Random Forest, and MCMC, ensuring model robustness, scalability, and business relevance.
- You will act as a strategic partner to the pricing and operational teams, driving analytical excellence and automation across workflows. This includes proactively identifying opportunities for improvement, mentoring analysts, and ensuring outputs are both commercially impactful and technically sound.
- You will continually evaluate new modelling techniques, tooling, and data sources, identifying opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency, and automation across pricing and operational workflows.
- You will help shape the roadmap for advanced analytics and decision science capability across the business.
👆 Does this sound like you?
- Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in data science, analytics, or applied statistical modelling, with a proven track record of delivering impactful solutions in complex environments.
- Strong hands-on experience applying machine learning techniques to real-world datasets, with demonstrable outcomes in business decisioning or operational optimisation.
- Expertise in advanced modelling approaches such as Random Forests, XGBoost, and Monte Carlo simulations.
- Proficiency in Python for data manipulation, model development, and deployment. Experience with other languages (e.g. R, Java, Scala) is beneficial, especially where cross-functional collaboration or legacy integration is required.
⌛ The Application Timeline
- A first stage video call with the internal recruitment team (15 minutes)
- A second stage introductory video call with the hiring manager (20 minutes)
- A face to face interview with the hiring manager (45 minutes - 60 minutes)
