The role:
The Business Analyst will support the delivery of the Multi Energy Portal (MEP) project by leading and coordinating the development of technical and operational requirements for MEPs, and by supporting radiation safety and regulatory approval activities required to enable installation and operation at a live UK sea port.
The role will act as a bridge between technical specialists, safety advisors, commercial colleagues and operational users, ensuring requirements, approvals and documentation are clearly defined, traceable and aligned to delivery timelines and governance expectations.
Responsibilities:
Technical Requirements & Analysis
- Lead the elicitation, definition and documentation of functional and non functional requirements for MEP capability, including hardware, software, integration and operational use.
- Translate high level operational needs into clear, testable technical requirements and acceptance criteria suitable for procurement and supplier delivery.
- Support the production and maintenance of requirements catalogues and supporting artefacts.
- Work closely with technical leads, integration teams and suppliers to ensure requirements are understood and feasible.
Radiation Safety & Regulatory Support
- Support the coordination of radiation safety, regulatory and assurance activities, working alongside Radiation Protection Advisors (RPAs), safety leads and policy colleagues.
- Assist in gathering, structuring and validating evidence required for radiation safety cases, approvals and regulatory submissions.
- Ensure regulatory and safety requirements are reflected accurately within technical and operational requirements.
- Track and manage dependencies between technical design decisions and regulatory approval requirements.
Stakeholder Engagement & Governance
- Engage with a wide range of stakeholders including project managers, commercial teams, safety specialists, digital teams and operational colleagues.
- Support governance processes by providing clear documentation and analysis to inform decisions at project and programme level.
- Help identify risks, issues and dependencies related to requirements and regulatory approvals, feeding into RAID and delivery planning.
