Aruba EdgeConnect SD-WAN Consultant - Contract - Mostly Remote

A network services provider is delivering an HPE Aruba SD-WAN solution for an end customer and needs an experienced contractor to own the low level design and the implementation.

The provider leads the solution architecturally, so this isn't an architecture role. It's hands-on design and build for someone who has deployed EdgeConnect before, in an environment where the solution has to work alongside an existing MPLS estate as well as Internet transport, with resilience and service monitoring designed across mixed connectivity.

The engagement covers the initial site deployments, after which the client continues with internal resource using a repeatable method you establish. Documentation and handover matter as much as the build.

Responsibilities

• Design, validate, deploy and support Aruba EdgeConnect SD-WAN solutions
• Configure and maintain Aruba Orchestrator and EdgeConnect appliances
• Implement resilient WAN architectures across MPLS, Internet and hybrid connectivity
• Develop and test HA architectures including EdgeHA deployments
• Lead technical workshops to validate requirements, operational models and failure scenarios
• Routing integration using BGP, OSPF and static routing
• Produce LLDs, implementation plans and operational handover documentation
• Engage Aruba TAC and vendor engineering where required

Essential

• Proven hands-on deployment of Aruba EdgeConnect (formerly Silver Peak). Evaluation, PoC or vendor selection experience alone won't be enough for this one
• Aruba Orchestrator administration and troubleshooting
• EdgeHA configuration and HA design
• SD-WAN underlay and overlay, policy creation and traffic steering
• Strong BGP and OSPF including route redistribution
• Demonstrable LLD authorship
• Customer-facing workshop and implementation delivery
• Available to start within 2-3 weeks

Desirable

WAN optimisation concepts, and experience designing around connectivity you don't control end to end.
