Assembly & Test Operative

We are looking for a hands-on Assembly & Test Technician to join the team as our client scales up their production environment for their newly developed electro-mechanical product. With testing nearing completion and strong initial orders secured, this role is critical to building, testing, and refining bespoke and low-volume electro-mechanical assemblies in-house.

Because this is a newly scaling product line entering its first year of rollout, you will work closely with engineering to troubleshoot real-world issues, iterate on designs, and ensure seamless production quality.

Assembly & Test Technician - Key Responsibilities
  • Hands-on Assembly & Integration: Build, wire, and assemble electronic boards, electrical wiring, and mechanical components in-house.

  • Testing & Troubleshooting: Conduct comprehensive end-of-line testing, identify performance issues, and troubleshoot electronic/hardware faults and mechanical issues during low-volume production runs.

  • Product Iteration & Refinement: Collaborate with the engineering team to fix, modify, and improve product designs as challenges arise during the initial year of product rollout.

  • Shop-Floor Efficiency: Work alongside supporting project administration staff to ensure technical personnel remain focused on core shop-floor manufacturing and testing rather than administrative burdens.

  • Sub-Assembly Management: Coordinate with sub-contracted PCB assembly providers (handling machine-placed, densely populated multi-level boards) and manage internal receiving/verification of components.

Assembly & Test Technician - Key Qualifications & Skills
  • Proven background in hands-on electronics assembly, wiring, and hardware testing alongside some mechanical engineering experience

  • Experience working with low-volume, bespoke, or complex electronic systems.

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment where products are actively maturing and requiring iterative problem-solving and engineering fixes.

  • Strong attention to detail and quality control during production runs.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate across engineering and production teams.
