About the Role

My client is looking for a customer-focused IT Migration Technician to support a large-scale Microsoft tenancy migration project.

Working as part of a dedicated project team, you will be responsible for assisting users throughout the migration process, ensuring their devices, accounts, emails, files, and Microsoft services are successfully transitioned into a new Microsoft tenancy with minimal disruption.

This is a hands-on role combining technical tasks with excellent customer service, as you'll guide users through the migration process, answer questions, and ensure everything is fully operational before sign-off.

The role is primarily based in Telford but will require travel to sites across Shropshire and Staffordshire. A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential.

Business mileage will be reimbursed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out Microsoft tenancy migrations following documented procedures.

  • Reconfigure user devices and accounts for the new Microsoft environment.

  • Migrate Outlook mailboxes, email content, Teams chat history and user data.

  • Ensure personal files and relevant system access are successfully transferred.

  • Configure access to any systems that remain within the legacy Microsoft tenancy.

  • Work directly with end users, guiding them through the migration process.

  • Perform post-migration checks to ensure systems are fully operational.

  • Obtain user acceptance and sign-off once migrations have been completed.

  • Accurately document completed work and escalate any technical issues where necessary.

  • Travel to various company locations to complete scheduled migrations.

Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience in an IT support, desktop support or migration role.

  • Good understanding of Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Teams and Windows environments.

  • Experience configuring user accounts and end-user devices.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

  • Able to follow structured processes and documentation accurately.

  • Comfortable working independently and managing workloads across multiple sites.

  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
