Monday to Thursday 8:30 AM – 5:15 PM, Friday 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM finish

Role Overview A hands-on Development Technician is required to join a world recognisable

manufacturer in Burgess Hill. This role focuses on the setup, testing, and continuous improvement of next-generation of hardware and engineering technologies used with manufacturing, research, pharmaceutical, petrochemical industries and alike. Working within a dynamic R&D environment, you will collaborate with project teams to turn physical test results into clear engineering insights.

Key Responsibilities

Testing & Data Acquisition:

Set up and execute test plans using data acquisition (DAQ) hardware, sensors (pressure, temperature, flow, vibration), and dedicated test software.

Assembly & Maintenance:

Build, configure, and strip mechanical test rigs, pumps, and rotating equipment to support rapid product iteration.

Problem Solving:

Perform root-cause analysis, troubleshoot anomalies, and produce clear, accurate technical reports.

Lab Standards:

Maintain rigorous laboratory safety standards, drive 6S principles, and ensure equipment readiness.

Mentorship:

Support and mentor junior technicians and apprentices in safe engineering practices.

Requirements

Experience:

Completed technician apprenticeship (or equivalent) plus 5+ years of post-apprenticeship practical experience.

Technical Background:

Proven background in mechanical assembly, test rig setup, and manual workshop machinery.

Instrumentation & IT:

Strong familiarity with sensors, signal quality, data acquisition systems, and Microsoft Excel/test software.

Communication:

Ability to present technical data clearly and collaborate effectively across engineering teams.
