A global law firm is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a major Data, Reporting & Analytics programme. This programme is focused on delivering a firm-wide reporting and analytics ecosystem, improving how the business uses data to support decision making and operational performance.

This role will sit within the firm’s Change Management Office and will play a key role in gathering, analysing and documenting reporting and data requirements across multiple business workstreams.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead discovery workshops and stakeholder interviews across business functions.
  • Capture and document business, reporting and data requirements.
  • Define KPIs, metrics, hierarchies and calculation logic used in reporting.
  • Translate requirements into epics, features and user stories within Agile delivery environments.
  • Work closely with data and BI teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood.
  • Support backlog refinement and prioritisation of reporting requirements.
  • Assist with User Acceptance Testing including test scenario creation and defect management.
  • Support the transition from legacy reporting to new analytics solutions.

Skills and experience required:

  • Strong experience as a Business Analyst within data, reporting or analytics environments.
  • Experience delivering enterprise reporting or analytics transformation programmes.
  • Strong requirements elicitation and documentation skills.
  • Experience defining reporting metrics, KPIs and business logic.
  • Understanding of data warehousing, BI concepts and reporting ecosystems.
  • Experience working with reporting tools such as Power BI in a delivery environment.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery programmes.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills across business and technology teams.
  • Experience working in professional services, legal or partnership-based organisations.

Desirable experience

  • Knowledge of legal sector systems such as Elite 3E, Intapp or Interaction.
  • Exposure to data governance or master data initiatives.
  • SQL or data querying knowledge.
  • Experience working with Finance, HR or Business Development reporting.
