Are you an experienced Infrastructure Architect who enjoys setting technical direction while still staying close to the technology?

We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure & Cloud Architect to join a large-scale, global regulated professional services organisation (based in London - remote working) taking a leading role in defining the technical direction of core infrastructure and cloud platforms.

Working across Azure, hybrid and on-premise environments, you will define technical standards, reference architectures and long-term technology roadmaps, while remaining close enough to engineering to support the design and delivery of complex infrastructure solutions.

What you'll be doing:

  • Define infrastructure and cloud architecture, standards and technology roadmaps
  • Architect and help deliver enterprise-scale infrastructure solutions
  • Design Azure environments, including IAM, landing zones and hybrid connectivity
  • Provide architectural direction across virtualisation, storage, server and cloud technologies
  • Evaluate new technologies and vendors against technical, security and business requirements
  • Lead technical projects and work closely with engineering and operational teams
  • Act as a senior technical authority for complex infrastructure challenges
  • Produce detailed architecture documentation and reference designs

What we're looking for:

  • Proven experience working as an Infrastructure & Cloud Architect within enterprise global technology professional services environments (eg Legal, Insurance, Accounting, financial services)
  • Expert knowledge of Azure cloud architecture and design
  • Expert knowledge of virtualisation and hyperconverged infrastructure knowledge, Nutanix (preferred) but Vmware and Hyper-V also considered.
  • Good knowledge of NAS/SAN and virtualised storage technologies
  • Good understanding of enterprise networking, including routing and switching
  • PowerShell and Scripting knowledge
  • Experience defining technical standards, reference architectures and technology roadmaps
  • Proven experience leading technical projects and influencing engineering teams
  • Experience operating within highly governed, security-conscious or regulated environments
