A growing insurance business is looking for a Senior IT Auditor to join its internal audit function.

This is a hands-on IT audit role covering technology controls, ITGCs, systems risk, internal controls testing and audit reporting. The role would suit someone from an IT audit, technology risk, IT controls or assurance background, ideally with experience in insurance, financial services or another regulated environment.

You will work across a broad technology and business landscape, delivering audits from planning through to reporting and helping the business maintain a strong control environment.

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering IT audits across a range of technology and operational areas. This will include audit planning, test plan development, fieldwork, evidence gathering, working paper documentation, findings management and audit reporting.

You will also support internal controls testing, including walkthroughs, control assessment and remediation follow up.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering end to end IT audits
• Testing IT controls, ITGCs and systems controls
• Reviewing areas such as access management, change management, IT operations, security and third-party controls
• Producing clear working papers to support audit conclusions
• Writing audit findings with clear root cause, risk and recommendations
• Presenting findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Supporting SOX, JSOX or equivalent controls testing
• Tracking remediation activity and completing follow up reviews
• Providing audit input into technology change and system implementation activity

Experience Required

• Experience in IT audit, technology risk, IT controls or technology assurance
• Strong understanding of ITGCs and control testing
• Experience delivering audits from planning through to reporting
• Exposure to SOX, JSOX or similar control frameworks would be beneficial
• Ability to write clear audit reports and explain technical risks to non technical stakeholders
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• Good organisation, accuracy and attention to detail
• Experience in insurance, financial services or another regulated sector would be beneficial
• Knowledge of COBIT, ITIL, ISO27001 or similar frameworks would be useful
  CISA, CISM, CIA or progress towards certification would be beneficial
