About the Role

Pixel Movement is proud to be partnering with an unannounced AAA Developer/Publisher on a key strategic hire for their UK subsidiary. This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading games business at a pivotal moment, taking ownership of their Governance, Risk and Compliance programme from the ground up.

The GRC Lead will be responsible for building and maintaining a robust governance framework across multiple jurisdictions, with a primary focus on UK regulatory requirements and international compliance obligations. This is a high-visibility, senior individual contributor role requiring a strategic mindset, strong legal and regulatory awareness, and proven project management capability.

Key Responsibilities

Governance

Establish and maintain policies, procedures, and standards to ensure effective organisational oversight and ethical conduct

Risk Management

Identify, assess, and mitigate operational and regulatory risks across the business

Compliance

Ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards

Support and assist in the delivery of compliance audits

Reporting

Provide regular GRC status reports and updates to senior management and key stakeholders

Core Competencies

  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of UK regulations and legal requirements; knowledge of international jurisdictions is a strong advantage
  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies and data-driven risk management
  • Communication: Ability to translate complex GRC concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Problem-Solving: Proactive in identifying potential risks and developing practical mitigation strategies
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous in reviewing documents, policies, and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance

Required Experience

  • Extensive hands-on experience in Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) functions
  • Strong working knowledge of UK laws, regulations, corporate governance expectations, and local compliance obligations
  • Experience managing compliance across multiple international jurisdictions
  • Proven track record of delivering projects end-to-end, including planning, stakeholder management, and risk tracking
  • Strong policy drafting skills with experience running compliance programmes
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical operational controls
  • A genuine interest in, or passion for, the video games industry would be a distinct advantage

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, or a related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience within an international organisation
  • Professional certifications such as GRCA, CIPP, CRISC, or CGEIT are desirable
