We are working with a growing UK-based technology business specialising in IoT sensor hardware, supporting organisations across smart buildings, energy management and workplace optimisation.
Their solutions enable customers to gather real-time data, improve efficiency and make smarter operational decisions across complex environments. With strong growth ambitions across the UK they are now looking to strengthen their commercial team with this role of Account Manager- a great opportunity for someone with a true ‘farmer’ approach to account management.
\The Role
This is a customer-focused, commercially driven Account Manager role responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of existing B2B clients.
You will act as the primary point of contact, ensuring customers are successfully adopting and gaining value from the company’s IoT hardware solutions, while also identifying opportunities to expand revenue through upselling and cross-selling.
The role sits at the intersection of commercial and technical, working closely with internal teams across Sales, Product and Engineering to deliver strong customer outcomes.
The existing customer base offers significant growth potential for someone commercially sharp, with strong networking skills and a collaborative approach
Key Responsibilities
Account Management & Relationship Building
- Own and manage a portfolio of existing B2B customer accounts
- Build strong, long-term relationships with both commercial and technical stakeholders
- Develop a deep understanding of each customer’s business, objectives and technical environment
Commercial Growth
- Identify and deliver upsell and cross-sell opportunities
- Support contract renewals and commercial negotiations
- Take ownership of account performance, retention and revenue growth
Technical & Consultative Support
- Act as a trusted advisor, helping customers understand how IoT hardware fits into their wider solutions
- Work alongside internal product and engineering teams to support technical discussions and resolve challenges
- Translate technical concepts into clear, commercial value for customers
Planning & Collaboration
- Develop account plans with clear growth strategies and objectives
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure a consistent and effective customer experience
- Share customer insights to support product development and commercial strategy
About You
- Demonstratable experience in B2B account management or sales
- Experience within IoT, hardware or a related technical environment
- Strong track record of managing and growing customer accounts
- Confident working in a consultative, customer-facing role
- Able to engage both technical and commercial stakeholders
- Understanding of IoT ecosystems (sensors, connectivity, platforms) is advantageous
- Exposure to technologies such as LoRaWAN, NB-IoT, Wi-Fi or similar would be highly advantageous
