Principal UX Designer – Digital Healthcare Innovation - Contract - Hybrid in London

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Principal UX Designer to shape the future of our digital healthcare products. You’ll lead user experience design across web and mobile platforms, ensuring every interaction is intuitive, compliant, and meaningful.

This role is perfect for someone who can balance strategic design thinking with hands-on execution — crafting elegant, user-centred experiences that improve patient outcomes and transform healthcare delivery.

What You’ll Do

• Lead end-to-end UX design for digital healthcare products, from discovery through delivery.
• Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
• Conduct user research, usability testing, and heuristic evaluations to inform and validate design decisions.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and medical teams in an agile environment.
• Advocate for UX best practices and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Stay current with emerging UX, healthcare, and technology trends.

What You’ll Bring

• Degree in Product Design, UX Design, HCI, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience as a Senior, Lead, or Principal UX Designer.
• Strong portfolio showcasing innovative, evidence-based design solutions.
• Deep understanding of User-Centred Design (UCD) and UX strategy .
• Proficiency in Figma, ProtoPie, Adobe XD , or similar tools.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with senior stakeholders.
• Experience working in Agile teams.

Desirable Experience

• Background in healthcare, medtech, or digital health .
• Knowledge of EHR systems, telemedicine, remote monitoring , or connected medical devices .
• Familiarity with AI, machine learning, or SaMD (Software as a Medical Device) applications.
• Understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Passion for healthcare innovation and improving patient outcomes.
