Location: Crawley - 5 days onsite

  • Our client is a leading Education ICT solutions provider. The cumulative expertise of our long-established team spans more than seventy-five years' worth of experience in providing consultancy, infrastructure services, network development and upgrades, and managed support services to educational establishments throughout the UK. By providing over 700,000 hours of support to over 270,000 users per year, They are an established market leader in the technology support sector.
  • They have now launched their Unique Service - working with their partners from Belgium and the Netherlands in delivering laptops to schools across the UK - offering a personalised, full-service education laptop to their students, with a customised school-webshop, a self-service portal, and a full-service model in case of repairs.
  • They are looking for an Engineer to work on site at Their Crawley based Service Centre. Together with your team you will diagnose and repair laptops and help in other areas of the operations department when needed.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Technical

  • Diagnose incoming laptops for defects and damage and log appropriately.
  • Be able to install a windows operating system.
  • Maintenance of equipment, specialist repairs/modifications upgrades, software/hardware enhancements within own capabilities.
  • Diagnose a hardware problem vs Accidental Damage.
  • Ability to provide "neat" fixing, including cleaning of devices and making sure the device is sealed properly. Training will be provided.
  • Able to check work appropriately and feel empowered to feedback Update tickets with diagnostic results allocate ESD locations to repairs as part of our quality assurance process.
  • Provide a basic level of Technical Support to end users on a 1st Line if needed.
  • Update tickets with relevant Easy4u status in line with relevant repair diagnosis.

Customer Service

  • Knowledge of dealing with individuals and resolving issues in a timely manner
  • Ability to communicate well in written English
  • Work with the Service Platform and Helpdesk System to record items and ensure that Customers are informed of your progress with their repair.
  • A strive for quality, rather than quantity

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in the IT Field is desirable
  • Experience of repairing/building hardware.
  • A can-do attitude to provide the best service to our customers
  • A self-starter - we are looking for suggestions on how to enhance our service.
  • Ability to work with quality and flexibility to meet customer demands.
