A growing multidisciplinary design practice is seeking its first dedicated in-house IT Manager to oversee and develop all Information Technology operations across multiple UK studios.

This is an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact within the business, taking responsibility for the smooth running, support, and future development of IT systems while working alongside an external IT support provider.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing the relationship with the external IT support provider to ensure efficient resolution of IT issues and continuous improvement of systems
  • Supporting and enhancing cyber security measures, including compliance with Cyber Essentials standards
  • Scoping and delivering future IT projects, policies, and process improvements
  • Advising senior leadership on IT strategy and technical infrastructure
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders to implement company-wide IT protocols and improve operational efficiency
  • Managing inventory and lifecycle of IT equipment, including procurement, renewals, decommissioning, and disposal
  • Setting up and managing laptops, tablets, mobile devices, and associated hardware
  • Managing software licences including Microsoft 365, Adobe, Autodesk, and other industry-standard software packages
Skills & Experience
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience managing Apple Mac environments is essential
  • Good understanding of:
    • Windows Server technologies
    • Backup and disaster recovery strategies
    • Microsoft 365 administration
    • IT security best practices
  • Experience with Apple device management tools would be advantageous
  • Ability to work proactively, independently, and under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

The successful candidate will regularly liaise with internal teams and senior management, providing updates, recommendations, and implementing improvements to systems and workflows. You will also assess emerging technologies and contribute to business cases relating to IT investment, development, and training.

Previous experience within a creative studio, architecture, design, or built environment sector would be beneficial but is not essential. Knowledge of industry-specific standards such as BIM, FTPs, BS, or ISO standards would also be advantageous.

Additional Information
  • Full-time position: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Based in Greater Manchester with travel to additional UK offices as required
  • Full UK Driving Licence required
  • Salary: £35,000 £45,000 depending on experience
