Commercial Data Insights Lead

A global organisation operating within the automotive technology and manufacturing sector, providing systems, components and aftermarket solutions for vehicles, industrial machinery and other applications. The business combines extensive manufacturing expertise with a focus on product quality, responsible development, greater efficiency and reducing environmental impact. Our client is seeking a Commercial Data Insights Lead to shape and deliver the customer and marketing insights strategy across EMEA. This hands-on leadership role will transform complex customer, sales, pricing, product and digital datasets into clear, actionable insights that support business growth, margin improvement and stronger customer engagement. Combining advanced analytics with commercial thinking and effective data storytelling, you will influence decision-making across a multi-market organisation while developing scalable reporting, analytics and measurement solutions.Duties & Responsibilities
  • Define and deliver the EMEA customer and marketing data and insights roadmap, supporting growth, retention, mix, margin and activation priorities.
  • Analyse large datasets to identify performance drivers, opportunities and root causes, applying advanced analytical and statistical techniques to support decision-making.
  • Build and manage scalable Power BI semantic models and dashboards that turn complex data into clear, actionable business insights.
  • Integrate internal and external data sources, maintaining effective validation, data quality controls and consistent KPI measurement frameworks.
  • Deliver customer segmentation, profiling and performance tracking to improve targeting, customer engagement and growth.
  • Establish a trusted source of customer and marketing insight through effective KPI design, governance and measurement.
  • Build analytics capability across the organisation by embedding best practices in data modelling, analysis and insight storytelling.
  • Ensure GDPR compliance and the responsible, ethical use of customer and marketing data.
Education & Skills Required
  • Previous experience leading customer, commercial or marketing analytics within a multi-market or matrix organisation, with the ability to deliver measurable commercial impact.
  • Advanced Power BI expertise, including data modelling, DAX and scalable semantic models, together with strong SQL skills and experience using multiple data sources.
  • Strong knowledge of data modelling, KPI design and governance, with experience applying statistical techniques to solve business problems.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to connect data and insights with revenue, margin and customer outcomes.
  • Experience with Python and/or R, pricing analytics, product or catalogue optimisation, digital marketing performance or reusable data assets is highly desirable. Familiarity with AI/LLMs and modern data practices would be beneficial.
