Senior Flutter Engineer
Department: IT Location: London Compensation: £70,000 - £90,000 / year Description We’re Pod – one of the UK’s leading EV charging providers, trusted by over 250,000 customers and powering more than 5 million miles every single day. But behind the numbers is a team of passionate people working together to shape a smarter, more sustainable future. We’re looking for a Senior Flutter Engineer to join our growing Home App team, someone who’s passionate about building great mobile experiences, enjoys taking ownership of features from concept to delivery, and loves collaborating with designers and engineers to bring products to life. We started off in 2009 as Pod Point, helping people make the switch to electric as EVs began to hit the road. Today, we’re leading the way into a smarter energy future. Now part of the EDF Family, a global leader in low-carbon energy, we're giving people and communities the power move confidently through electrification. We’re proud to be the trusted charging partner for leading automotive brands like Mercedes, Jaguar Land Rover, BMW, and Kia; home builders Barratt and Bellway; and retail giants including Tesco. Our smart charging solutions don’t just support EV drivers - they help balance the grid, lower costs, and make clean energy accessible to everyone. What You’ll Do
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of new features for the Pod Point Home App, built in Flutter.
- Work closely with designers to create intuitive, modern, and beautiful app experiences.
- Ensure quality and performance through testing, review, and refinement.
- Help bring the Home App to feature parity with our legacy app and push forward modernisation of the UX.
- Support the evolution of the app into a Home Energy Management System, integrating new propositions like solar, heat pumps, and smart tariffs.
- Collaborate with backend teams to integrate APIs and services, occasionally contributing to backend work where needed.
- Mentor and support less experienced engineers, sharing best practices across our growing Flutter community.
- Extensive experience in mobile app development, ideally 5+ years overall.
- At least 2+ years’ hands-on Flutter experience, delivering production-grade apps.
- A strong grasp of app architecture, state management, and testing in Flutter.
- An appreciation for design and UX — you enjoy working closely with designers to build elegant interfaces.
- Experience integrating REST APIs or GraphQL services.
- Solid understanding of software engineering principles — CI/CD, testing, and version control.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and self-organisation skills.
- A proactive, ownership-driven mindset and the ability to mentor others.
- Familiarity with native iOS/Android, React Native, or backend technologies.
